CAM Jazz (*) was launched in the year 2000 in order to group all of its jazz productions: past, present, and future. It is dedicated to releasing vintage jazz recordings from an immense repertoire, and producing new jazz-style recordings consisting of both original compositions as well as cover versions of memorable film themes, musicals and songs, all performed by some of the most outstanding Italian and international jazz performers of our times.

In the course of its ten years of existence CAM Jazz has literally made lightning progress and has positioned itself among those independent record labels with utmost international prestige. Among the many brilliant results achieved since the moment of CAM Jazz’s beginning there are the five GRAMMY nominations (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010) obtained consecutively in 2006 with the album What Now? by Anglo-Canadian trumpeter Kenny Wheeler in the category of “Best Jazz Instrumental Album”, in 2007 with Viva by Argentine trumpeter Diego Urcola in the category of “Best Latin Jazz Album”, and in 2008 with 1000 Kilometers by Oregon. The album by the well-known American quartet obtained, in fact, two nominations: the first in the category of “Best Jazz Instrumental Solo” for Paul McCandless’ solo in the track that gives name to the CD, and the second in the category of “Best Instrumental Composition”, thanks to Deep Six by drummer Mark Walker. FInally, the fifth nomination came in 2010 with Martial Solal Live At the Village Vanguard, in the category "Improvised Jazz Solo".

The CAM Jazz catalog has been marked artistically by a variety of styles that intentionally encompass diverse concepts, faithfully reflecting the many spirits that live together in harmony today in the world of jazz. The launch of the “CAM Jazz Presents” series is also testimony of the attention given to new talent.
The year 2008 marked another milestone for CAM Jazz: the acquisition of two of the most celebrated labels of the 80s and seven-time winners of the Down Beat’s Critics Poll: Black Saint and Soul Note, as well as the DDQ jazz catalogue.
Black Saint: An avant-garde jazz label, established in Italy, in 1975. A legendary catalog including over 190 albums.
Soul Note: A modern jazz label, established in Italy, in 1979. A legendary catalog including over 350 albums.
Dischi Della Quercia: An Italian jazz label, established in 1990. A legendary catalog including over 40 albums.

Another characteristic of the Italian label is its high-level sound quality in its productions, recorded in the best recording studios in Europe and America, and whose engineers are considered integral part of the great CAM Jazz team.

The CAM Jazz record productions are available on all major digital platforms and on-demand, and are also easily accessible through its commerce-enabled website, CamJazz.com, which allows its visitors to listen to, browse through, and purchase CDs.
