CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT (aka “Campanadas a Medianoche”) is the 1965 tragi-comedy directed and interpreted by Orson Welles. Considered as one of Welles’ best film adaptations of Shakepeare’s works, the cast of this Hispano-Swiss production includes Welles (as Sir John Falstaff), Jeanne Moreau (Doll Tearsheet), John Gielgud (King Henry IV), Marina Vlady (Kate Percy), Norman Rodway (Henry “Hotspur” Percy), Fernando Rey (Worcester), Walter Chiari (Mr. Silence), and Keith Baxter (Prince Hal).
Another rich, majestic score by Angelo F. Lavagnino. |
